Shots

On our way home from getting the kids from school today, I told them that I had taken Charlie to the vet. I told them that Charlie had gotten shots and that just as they get shots growing up so does Charlie. Then Jack asked if Charlie would get shots before going to doggy school? This little boy is way too adorable - sometimes.

Besides, No One Looks Like That

There is this mythical creature I hear about. They call her Wonder Woman. This ‘woman’ who gets it all done. But I don’t believe in her existence - no one can do it all. No one. Not without losing something. And I find in trying to do it all, that something, is you.

Hook, Line and Tears

Lately we have been enjoying introducing Grace and Jack to movies that we watched as kids. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has been a huge hit, as has Mary Poppins. Today we decided to give Hook a try. I forgot how much I like that movie. In the middle of the movie Peter Pan tells how he ran away from home when he was a baby because he didn't want to grow up. Close to the end of the movie Jack comes over to me and asks why Peter left his mommy and daddy? I explain to him that he just didn't want to grow up. He looks at me, the corners of his mouth turn down, his eyes get very sad and fill with tears, and he tells me in a shaky voice that, that is the sad part of the movie and he climbs in my lap, tells me sometimes his eyes get filled with water, and he cried.

He was so emotional over this part of the movie. When we tucked him into bed he began to cry again and said 'I keep hearing the sad part about Peter leaving his parents in my brain and why did he leave? Why didn't he go back to them? Because they never stop loving you.'

No little man, we will never stop loving you.
